So I'm in my third year of college and I've decided that I've definitely chosen the wrong college to go to. Of course, the one I'm at is bearable enough to finish my schooling at, but I made the unfortunate mistake of going to college on the eastern side of Washington rather than the western half. Essentially, whenever I head back to the other part of the state, I just kind of dread having to go back to the eastern half for school. It's not like I'm suffering from a lack of friends, either (I have about five people I hang out with on a consistent basis). It's just that this side of the state has a definitely different social feel to it (Western WA has a more liberal atmosphere to it, for sure) and I abhor the environment on this side of the state (I want trees and rain back, not just sun, snow, and grass). I really should have gone to school in like Olympia instead. Anyways, my question is did you go to the right college? Why or why not? I had an in-state scholarship that was really good, so I didn't even look out of state, and I didn't really like the colleges up in Seattle. I decided not to go to this one private school next to Oly because it just wouldn't be worth it for the degree I'm getting. I probably should have gone to Evergreen, but it seemed like their programs were more for people who knew for sure what they were doing, and I wasn't a hundred percent on what I wanted for my major (but I've stuck with the same thing all this time, so it most likely would have worked out). Jms, I'm currently running with like a 3.76 cumulative GPA, so I don't need to knuckle down. For the degree I'm going for, I could have chosen just about any college in the state. I'm just saying that I chose the wrong one because the social atmosphere and surrounding environment isn't what I enjoy.... Read More »
